ako ay pilipino

Ako ay Pilipino, ito Ang Kulay Ko.

Dear Mr. President,

With due respect, I ask, what imbues the apathetic, the activitists, the Christians, the Muslims, the poor and the rich as Filipinos? My humble answer would be, the vibrant colors of the Philippine flag that symbolize our nation.

Our Nation's colors are flying defiantly against the prejudices that fragment our beloved country; as it reminds us of hope, a testimony of the many lives, including that of your father's, that has fought for
freedom and of enduring unity.

It is in this regard that I ask for you to please wear our nation's colors proudly so that the nation will see the same reminders in you and in your administration.

Yellow doesn't represent your constituents, as it only reminds us of your political affiliation. Recall that you won the presidency not because of the color you represented during the elections, but because many gave their confidence in YOU, as a leader molded after your great
parents. You are no longer confined as a standard bearer of a specific coalition, you currently represent 95 million lives, many of whom, see you as a savior out of the problems that face our country.

Lessons from history dictate that if a nation is to move forward, its colors should bleed into one and a flag losing its colors in combat could seriously jeopardize the morale of a unit. You rally us into fighting corruption towards "daang matuwid", enable us to see your sincerity to lead your people not based on the dictates of a few but founded on the aspirations of a nation you now lead.

We endeavor to make a country that we can all be proud of, prejudice handicaps and divides our nation. We want to see you embodying the nation's colors and proudly wearing them as a catalyst for unification.

With all sincerity,
Ang Sambayanang Pilipino
